Dr. Xavier has secured his Ph.D. in Computational Chemistry (Theoretical Organic Chemistry) from Mahatma Gandhi University, Kottayam, India. He has pursued his Postdoctoral Research/Fellowship tenures at: The New York State Center of Excellence (CoE) in Bioinformatics & Life Sciences, State University of New York (SUNY) at Buffalo, NY, USA. Donald Danforth Plant Science Center, St. Louis, MO, USA. The Technion-Israel Institute of Technology, Haifa, Israel. Solid State & Structural Chemistry Unit, Indian Institute of Science, Bangalore, India. Specialties: Application of quantum mechanics, density functional theory, molecular dynamics and molecular mechanics methods, for the simulation studies of structure and reactivity of chemical and biological systems in the gas phase and in solution. Studying biomolecules by means of molecular modeling, chemo/bioinformatics, and using computer-aided drug design (CADD) for the design of pharmacophores and small molecular entities that could lead to potential drug leads/drug candidates/novel therapeutic agents/medicines.
